Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix discovered early that she was gifted for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks, after her first attempt. Felix finished high school in 2003, and signed with Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. Following that, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. One year later Felix was awarded the first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making the world junior record sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to win the 200 meter race. She defended that title, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
